It's going to really be a "candlelight evening" saints!

                                                  Hear Ye Hear Ye!!!!
Plans are underway for implementing a "child care" ministry for infants and toddlers in the new year. After we install much needed furniture and accessories, we will need the kind cooperation of everyone as we endeavor to serve our congregants and guests with a well trained team to host, oversee, and minister to the children. As we grow, and in order to do so, it is vital that we begin to train vision carriers in the policies and procedures that ensure the welfare of all the children in a ministry atmosphere.

Please see Kelly Bowerman if you would like to join this developing ministry.

"Operation Christmas Child"
Remember to bring all your boxes this Sunday at 10am. We will have a brief time of fellowship with coffee and donuts as we prepare the boxes and pray over each one for the children to be truly gospelized with the message of Christ. This is a way to implement our participation in the  "Advent Conspiracy". Be generous and sacrificial by bringing  as many children's boxes as possible. Remember, it really is better to "GIVE!"

"Mission and Vision Next Wednesday 6:30 pm"
For our final  joint meeting, we will review our mission and corresponding vision for the new year. This will involve "roles-realms-responsibilities" regarding pressing needs that we all foresee needing to be implemented for the future. This means we will appoint multiple "Vision Carriers" to assume the role and responsibility of getting important projects up and running and  training others to serve. It will be a participatory session, so I am requesting everyone please be prepared to be a "problem solver" and "burden bearer" by showing willingness to invest personal time and energy toward these upcoming priorities.

"Holiday Season Break"
Wednesday November 27th  we will forgo our evening sessions until after the new year when we resume our regular rhythm again on Wednesday evening January 8, 2014.

"Christmas by Candlelight" December 14th
Advent celebration is fast upon us so we will begin registration this coming Sunday morning. A fabulous menu is being prepared and the Christ Exalting music ministry is going to be awesome. We are requesting everyone to kindly  invest  $15.00 per person to offset the expense of the meal. Please "reach out" to friends and family and invite them to be your personal guest  for this Christ centered occasion. This is another opportunity to join the Advent Conspiracy by giving to others.

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

After traveling to Israel for 9 days and embarking on another 7 days of trans-local ministry, we are now back in the "fast forward" saddle here at "The Life".  Mark your calendars so as to prioritize these upcoming events:

1.Sunday is Father's Day
Please invite friends and family as we give due honor to father's during our Sunday Morning Gathering.

2.Special Guest Minister
Next Saturday, June 22nd @ 9:30am, our good friend Scott Hinkle will join us for breakfast and special time of encouragement to touch others lives with the gospel and good deeds.

Jewish and a heroin addict, Scott was delivered from a life that pointed to prison and ultimately an early grave. In a parking lot in 1970, Scott's life was drastically rearranged as he was told of and experienced the life transforming power of Jesus Christ.

Scott founded the  "National Conference on Street Ministry", which has trained thousands of workers, leaders and pastors through the years. He is author of two books and has often been a contributing author for Charisma Magazine.

3.July Is Family Month
As is our custom, we will forgo Wednesday evening sessions during the month of July so that everyone can prioritize family relationship. Enjoy!

4.Financial Updates:
Please peruse the bulletin board for posted balance sheets and other up-to-date financial information. Your faithful giving is demonstrated by our being able to restore the contingency fund to $5000.00 and begin contributing regularly to a mission fund while continuing monthly support of 2 missionaries.

HEAR YE! HEAR YE!

Sunday Morning 10:00am
* This Sunday, our corporate gathering will begin at 10:00am!!!! This positive adjustment will allow us to incorporate intercessory prayer as well as express "personal ministry"  for the needs that often arise within the flock. This has been an unfortunate deficiency and our desire is to see Holy Spirit encounter through "laying on of hands" and anointing with oil" during our collective time together.

*Kind reminder that Sunday's  Love Feast will focus on the celebration of the Coffey's 50th wedding anniversary.  Please prepare ample "Southern style" dishes for your family with additional food for or guests.  Cups, drinks, napkins and utensils will be provided.

Wednesday Evening Corporate Sessions
Beginning March 6th, our joint sessions scheduled on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings will emphasize the practics of "Biblical Peacemaking" as it relates to relational conflict resolution. We will cover the prescription laid out by Jesus in Matthew 18 and  lay out the principles for "speaking truth to power" [holding leadership accountable] and how to guard against "spiritual abuse" as we explain the role of  Church governance in the local church.

House Cleaning March 9th
*We are planning a much needed work day for the building Saturday March 9th. Small jobs that include window cleaning, painting, installing 2nd projector/screen, laying carpet etc will help us prepare the facilities our special guests who will be joining us for the Passover Seder.

Passover Seder March 27th
*The Life is hosting a "Passover Seder Celebration" Wednesday March 27th with  Dr. Jeffrey Seif. As a Messianic Jew, Dr Seif will guide us through the O.T. Jewish Feast and center it's fulfillment in the person of Jesus Christ. This is an awesome opportunity for us to invite unchurched friends, family and neighbors. Seating will be somewhat limited since Pastor Kevin Jefferson and the congregation of  "Word of Grace Christian Center" will be joining us.  Therefore, registration to reserve seating for your family and invited guests will be absolutely essential.

>Wednesday Evening Sessions: With sincere apology for confusion I may have caused, here is the rhythm for  our Wednesday sessions. In the unlikely event of another cancellation, that class will be missed but we will maintian the normal scheduled rhythm the following week.

*1st &  3rd evenings of each month will have everyone meeting together.
*2nd and 4th evenings of the month we have designed equipping sessions that are gender specific.  One for the men and the one for  the ladies.

>Wednesday February 20th, our joint session is being designed to further discuss the assessments and how we might strengthen our weaknesses and temper our strengths. Please come prepared to share creative ways you might suggest for us to be more outreach oriented to impact the community and venues for this objective to be accomplished.

Tuesday, December 4, 2012

Greetings Saints,

In my haste to cover as much material as possible during our Sunday Morning
Catechism,I failed to bring out some very important information about "provisional membership status".

Let me explain what this means and who it might serve since it is a very important level of congregational relationship.

Provisional membership follows the same process of catechism but allows a time of "qualified membership status"specifically for new coverts who have been recently baptized, children who are 17 yrs or younger, and anyone receiving redemptive discipline and/or is progressing through a period of restoration.

This level of relationship enjoys the same benefits of "covenant membership" with the exception of having a voice during formal family meetings, financial matters, and the purchase of property or buildings etc.

The provisional status will continue until "confirmed membership" has been attained.
Please feel the liberty to ask questions or share feedback saints.

Special Announcements

Greeeeeeetings Saints!

When I arrived back in town from ministry in Illinois,
folks began telling me of the anointed message shared by brother Coffey and how
much it ministered to them. We are truly blessed to have such a seasoned brother
laboring in the word to feed us. AMEN!

As everyone is much aware, we have been running on "fast forward" since procuring our new facility. While many tasks still await us concerning the renovation endeavor,it behooves us to now focus on bringing greater vision, clarity and understanding to our corporate identity as a congregation. With that pressing need upon us, here are
some things we now have moved to "front burner" objectives.

1. Beginning this Sunday, we will launch "New member Catechism"topics as our morning messages. This will continue each week throughout the month of November. Upon completion, those attending the five Sundays will be given the opportunity to express their prayer-based desire to formalize relationship by entering into the covenant of membership.Confirmation into covenant membership will take place on dedication Sunday.

2. We have designated Sunday December 2, 2012 as the special day to dedicate our new facility and by that, announce our ministry presence to the City. Our friend Dr. Jeffrey Seif has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for this sacred assembly. Jeff is a messianic Jew, a bible college professor, and lead pastor of a messianic congregation in Dallas, Texas.

Please begin inviting family, friends and co-workers. We anticipate some of our RFM ministers joining us for this special occasion.

3.Finally, Christmas by Candlelight will be celebrated Saturday,December the 22nd this year. We will serve a catered dinner and enjoy ministry in song in honor of the Advent of our Lord Jesus Christ in human flesh.

More information will follow regarding each of these special times. Please prioritize your family participation by blocking out each of these dates on your calendar.
