Greetings Saints,

In my haste to cover as much material as possible during our Sunday Morning
Catechism,I failed to bring out some very important information about "provisional membership status".

Let me explain what this means and who it might serve since it is a very important level of congregational relationship.

Provisional membership follows the same process of catechism but allows a time of "qualified membership status"specifically for new coverts who have been recently baptized, children who are 17 yrs or younger, and anyone receiving redemptive discipline and/or is progressing through a period of restoration.

This level of relationship enjoys the same benefits of "covenant membership" with the exception of having a voice during formal family meetings, financial matters, and the purchase of property or buildings etc.

The provisional status will continue until "confirmed membership" has been attained.
Please feel the liberty to ask questions or share feedback saints.

Special Announcements

Greeeeeeetings Saints!

When I arrived back in town from ministry in Illinois,
folks began telling me of the anointed message shared by brother Coffey and how
much it ministered to them. We are truly blessed to have such a seasoned brother
laboring in the word to feed us. AMEN!

As everyone is much aware, we have been running on "fast forward" since procuring our new facility. While many tasks still await us concerning the renovation endeavor,it behooves us to now focus on bringing greater vision, clarity and understanding to our corporate identity as a congregation. With that pressing need upon us, here are
some things we now have moved to "front burner" objectives.

1. Beginning this Sunday, we will launch "New member Catechism"topics as our morning messages. This will continue each week throughout the month of November. Upon completion, those attending the five Sundays will be given the opportunity to express their prayer-based desire to formalize relationship by entering into the covenant of membership.Confirmation into covenant membership will take place on dedication Sunday.

2. We have designated Sunday December 2, 2012 as the special day to dedicate our new facility and by that, announce our ministry presence to the City. Our friend Dr. Jeffrey Seif has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for this sacred assembly. Jeff is a messianic Jew, a bible college professor, and lead pastor of a messianic congregation in Dallas, Texas.

Please begin inviting family, friends and co-workers. We anticipate some of our RFM ministers joining us for this special occasion.

3.Finally, Christmas by Candlelight will be celebrated Saturday,December the 22nd this year. We will serve a catered dinner and enjoy ministry in song in honor of the Advent of our Lord Jesus Christ in human flesh.

More information will follow regarding each of these special times. Please prioritize your family participation by blocking out each of these dates on your calendar.

Newness Has Dawned!

Greetings Saints,

I sincerely appreciate the aweeeeeesome response to the short notice for a family meeting last evening. Everyone seemed to appreciate that Christ works slowly but shows up quickly. Therefore,it was necessary due to the 30 day time sensitive context we are now entering.

Reformata Family of ministers and Churches:

We shared that as we move into the future, our local church DNA theologically, doctrinally, missionally and governmentally will flow out of our relational paradigm with RFMC. Hopefully, this brought a sense of clarity to our being an integral part of a growing family of ministers and churches.

A New Name:

Our immediate task is to creatively arrive at a new name that encapsulates our corporate identity as we move into our new location.

To expedite this,we will appoint a team of four to assist with this delicate but substantive endeavor. From RFM, John Reyes and Darren Whiddon will work with two team members from our congregation. This will ensure continuity with our history and keep us in touch with our local context.

A Mind to work:

For the next 6 weeks or so, every Wednesday evening will be designated as a work night for cleaning, painting, lawn care, and upgrading the facility. We will actually be working throughout the day as well, so anyone can who can come, may assist throughout the day.Saturday mornings will be included as prime work times, especially when we begin transferring our facility contents.

Concerning these essential work times,May I gently implore everyone to joyfully shoulder the burden of stewarding this amazing opportunity granted us by The Exalted Christ. We absolutely need every heart and hand to accomplish this noble investment toward the future.

A Willing Generosity:

Lastly, please consider our exhortation to bring the whole tithe, but to go further by committing to give an offering each month above the Lord's tithe. I am confident we are able to meet the financial challenge before us as we
become cheerfully motivated givers toward enlarging our ministry opportunity in the City and entire West Georgia region.

Isaiah 54:1-8 tells us to Enlarge-Stretch-Lengthen-and Strengthen our gathering place for fruitful increase.

Believe it! Receive it! Love it! Do it!

Amen!

Excited Shepherd

Monday, August 20, 2012

Greetings Saints!

I have some AWESOME NEWS to share and for that reason we are having a very special "family meeting" this Wednesday evening at 6:30pm.

A love feast meal will be provided as we discuss our future that the Exalted Christ has been pleased to lead us into. Shout!

May I gently implore everyone to make this family time a serious priority for the following reasons:

1.We need everyone who has the grace of heart for building an "authentic local church" to influence just what that is to look like.

2.Each person will be given the opportunity to voice support and share concerns regarding the evenings topics of discussion.

So please mark your calendar, set your phone reminder,or simply put up a sticky note on your mirror. Whatever it takes, do not miss this amazing opportunity to eat good food! Hear good news!Talk about good things! Celebrate the GOOD GOD we serve! Then depart "feeling good!"

We are serving a Good Shepherd who is doing good things in all of our lives!

Amen!

Introducing "The Gathering of Five"

Greetings Saints!

Delighted to share with everyone about a great addition to the
rhythm of body life at The Gathering.

Our leaders will be inviting 5 different couples to join them for
a relational and casual gathering in their homes each month
during this new year.

The goal is simple:  relax, enjoy table fellowship,
and generously laugh together. Therefore, feel free to pick
on Norm, Steven, or Bobby. In fact, it's open season on brother
Coffey as well. lol

Soooooo, be prepared to quickly say yes when you are personally
invited to a host home. It will certainly please Christ and you will
grow relationally.

Shout!

Getting Our New Year Groove On!

Haaaaaaaaaappy New Year Saints!

As we enter 2012 together with renewed vigor for Christ, his Kingdom, and the Church,

here are some "New and Re-newed" objectives we are intentionally implementing to fuel

our gospelized passion.

Designed to be a means to grow in grace and knowledge, I trust these pursuits will be
centered at the top of your cultural and family life priorities.

1. Monthly "Heart Spa" led by Regina and a team of seasoned ladies. [TBA]

2."Gathering of Five" hosted by leadership families, will target five couples to enjoy
a covered dish meal together for table fellowship and relational one anothering.

3.Beginning this Wednesday at 6:30 pm, we will resume our commitment to
biblical studies by unpacking "The First Epistle of John". Here is a sampling
of questions to be answered:

a. When does eternal life begin?

b. The biblical difference between unconditional love and conditional fellowship?

c. How do Christian's make God out to be a liar?

d.Can we biblically evaluate our "spiritual growth stages?"

e. Are negative consequences incurred for "loving the world?'

f, Why the warning,"let no man deceive you?"

g. Is it true that "whoever is born of God will never sin?"

h.Why are we commanded to "test the spirits?"

i. How can we be confident that we will receive everything we ask in prayer?

j. What is "the sin unto death" for Christian's?
