New Year at New Location With New Vision!

Greetings,

I trust all are anticipating the very first Gathering of  the new year
at our new location this coming Sunday. Shout!

Rafael began painting  the "main room" today and Jason helped
us clear out our storage unit and then transfer all of the equipment
from the Agricultural Center.

We also ordered audio and video accessories for Jason to hang
the projector and run the wiring for all the equipment this Friday.

The Lord willing and all goes as planned, we should have new
carpeting laid and main rooms decorated. Somebody Shout Again!

Kind reminder ladies, this is the first Sunday of the month so
prepare a great "Love Feast" menu so we can celebrate with some
serious groceries.

Now Everybody Shout Together!

Please Consider This!

May I kindly suggest that everyone consider  a new family tradition
this year that follows the biblical example of the Wise Men in Matt 2:11:

They entered the house... saw the child with his mother, Mary,
and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened
their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense,
and myrrh.”

How can we demonstrate this TRUE SPIRIT of Christmas today?

First Presbyterian is having a Special one hour Christmas
Eve Service.Consider attending to worship The Christ Child
with your own gifts of adoration along with the Body of Christ
on this hallowed eve. Then return and celebrate in your own
 family tradition.

Now that would truly be a Christ Centered-Worship Oriented
Christmas Eve! See ya there folks.

Our Next Gathering and New Location

Greetings Saints,

From all reports, everyone enjoyed our first Christmas by Candlelight
Advent Celebration! Food, Fellowship and Christ centered songs
of adoration made for a grace-filled evening.

Since we had our own celebration this past Friday, we are foregoing
our Gathering this Sunday so everyone can have the opportunity to
join with a liturgical churrch in the community for a joyful celebration
on Christmas Eve Friday or Christmas Day Saturday.

We have personally  joined First Presbyterian for two years
and enjoyed a Christ Centered-Gospel Oriented experience.
They allow "open communion"so the Eucharist is celebrated by
all believers attending. Taking part with others will also allow
your family to see what Christ is doing in The City Church
of LaGrange. Please take advantage of  this rare opportunity.

The next Gathering  will be January 2, 2011 in our new location.
I believe you will be delighted to see the renovation and decoration
of our new home.

Until then, may the Exalted Christ be pleased to bless each family
with fullness of Joy and Peace that is only found in the Christ of
 Christmas.

Advent Blessings to all!

Urgent Request For Assistance Thursday and Friday

Greetings Saints,

I hope you are anticipating our special “Christmas by Candlelight”
this Friday evening!Since it is a special occasion which includes guests,
may I suggest“business casual” dress. However, all are welcome to
 their personal choice of attire.

Also, in order to ensure a well ordered time together, may I count
on everyone to assist us with many of the details that contribute to
 a successful event?

Plans are to begin set up of tables, chairs, audio and video Thursday
evening.I am hoping all the brothers will join me in this labor of love
 endeavor.

Considering the majority of our ladies work on Friday, how many
would be willing to come out and assist Vicki and Regina with
decorations and pre-event details?

We will also need early arrivers on Friday to assist Ashley with
the food being delivered and set up.Since we are a small flock,
this likely means ladies helping both Thursday and Friday
 if at all possible.

Lastly, may I kindly request that everyone, ladies and men, plan to
assist with “clean up” and “tear down” after the event is concluded.
Enjoy some "one anothering" fellowship while breaking down
audio equipment, tables, and chairs while sweeping and vacuuming.

Please let me know if we can count on your much needed assitance.

Bear in mind that Friday night  is our Gathering in lieu of Sunday,
so everyone will be able to sleep in on Sunday morning
and rest from all your labors!

Third Week Of Advent Season

Greetings Saints,

In our Advent message this week, we will endeavor to unpack  "The Paradox of the Christmas Gospel".  This means addressing the mystery of  deity assuming humanity along with make application of scriptures mandate for Christ followers to live out incarnational servanthood with one another.

Kind reminder that Starbucks Coffee, Fresh Donuts and Bagels will be provided this Sunday morning at 10:00 am. Come enjoy some relational "one anothering". Shout!

We need some ladies to plan to arrive at the Agricultural Center early in order to assist with preparation  for this fellowship occasion.

Hail To the King!

Questions Regarding The Second Coming Of Christ

Christ Followers,

Since the Advental Season emphasizes the multiple dimensions of Christs Coming:
>In the Incarnatiion wheeby God visited earth in person
>Through the Gospel, by word and spirit, Christ enters our personal lives
>The Eucharistic Celebration is the means for Christ to come and commune with his corporate people
>In the  second Advent, Christ will bodily return in all his Royal Splendor to consumate salvation history

During the Gathering this coming Sunday, we plan to address
the following questions that relate specifically to the second coming of  Christ :

>Are we living  in the last days?
>Does scripture teach that Christ second advent can be hastened?
>Since it's already been 2000 years, does that mean that God is slack concerning his promise?
>Why would God continue to prolong the coming of Christ when things are so bad?
>What should we be doing during these perilous times surrounding us?
>In light of all the signs, what time is it?

Please come and enjoy our pre-assembly  fellowship each Sunday
at 10:00 am during December. Starbucks Coffee and fresh donuts
 will be provided.

Also, remember that we are re-locating this week and will be Gathering
 at LCS this Sunday only!

Italian Style Love Feast

Somebody Shout!

A kind reminder that we will enjoy an Italian menu during the Love Feast
this coming Sunday. The ladies will Git-r-done!

Since the holiday season brings a lot of xtra labor for everyone,
we will forego the Love Feast during the month of December and
serve Starbucks Coffee with doughnuts at 10:00 am. Arrive early and join us
for relational fellowship.

However, I kindly request that we refrain from drinks and food when
the Sacred Assembly is officially called together. Remember saints,

Awesome Report!

Give Him Praise!

The "Advent Conspiracy" is absolutely being seeded in our hearts Saints! The Exalted Christ graced our little flock with his heart of  generosity today. Shout!

>Families hand packed 30 boxes of Christmas gifts for "Operation Christimas Child" providing destitute children in Haiti with gifts and the gospel.

>Your "offering of love" totalled $516.00 for our suffering brothers and sisters in Christ. The finance team agreed that we should round it up to $1000.00 and mail to "Voice of the Martyrs" and The Persecuted Church this week.

I commend each of you for Christ Centerd generosity and pray that we all celebrate the Advent Season with a greater understanding of our calling to be incarnational with the gospel. We certainly are seeing practical fruit of it's implications already.

You Are Loved!

Identifying With The Persecuted Church

This Sunday, November 14th, is set apart annually by the International Church as a time for Christians  to remember their brothers and sisters who are experiencing  severe persecution for the name of Christ and  their Christian faith.

Since  "The Gathering"  will join in this sacred event, may I kindly request that each Christ Follower come prepared to share a special  "offering of love" toward ministries that serve these sufferings servants of Christ.

Please bear in mind our ethos that convictionally restrains from mentioning giving or finances throughout the  year. However, since we are advocating the principles of  "The Advent Conspiracy", this is simply another opportunity to  "impoverish ourselves" so that others in need may be enriched by our sacrifice. Now that is truly what this Advent Season is  all about.

Remember to bring the "Christmas Shoe Boxes" for Franklin Grahams "Good Samaritan Purse".

God So Loved that He Gave!

Advent Conspiracy and Love Feast Events

Tomorrow night:

We  launch the two part Wednesday night series covering "The Advent Conspiracy".
Why? The good news of Christ's birth is a story of promise, hope, and a revolutionary love.  What was once a sacred time to celebrate the birth of our savior has been turned into a secularized season of stress, excess, commercialism and consumerism. Christians enter the new year with greater debt and emptiness. So, our goal is to  restore the Advent Season  to it's world-changing emphasis. How? Join us tomorrow night and take part in the conspiracy! Click  http://www.adventconspiracy.org/

November 7th Gathering:

Reminder that we celebrate the biblical "love Feast" on the first and third Gathering of each month. Ladies are encouraged to "get-r-done" by preparing some of your favorite dishes for this special event. Vicki is making this happen so promptly give her your ideas as well as what you will be preparing.

Christmas Season Break

Christ Followers,

The rhythm for our Wednesday evening studies provides for a break during the Christmas season.

This means our journey together through the "Advent Conspiracy" series in November will begin the 3rd and conclude on the 10th.

Everyone will enjoy extended family time for the entire Advent Season since our studies are scheduled to resume after  the New Year on January 5th, 2011.

I can hear hear shoutin, clappin, and dancin!

Reminder, if you haven't previewed the "Advent Conspiracy" kindly click  http://www.adventconspiracy.org/

Reformation Celebration

This coming weekend, our culture will give itself to all things associated with the dark side of Halloween.

However, on this same date back in 1517, Dr.Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses on the door of a  Catholic Church in Wittenburg,Germany.  By boldly doing so, he ushered in the protestant reformation period.

This monumental movement produced the character of Christ centered evangelicalism by emphasizing the supremacy of scripture, justification by grace through faith alone, and the doctrine of vocation. For this reason, the traditional church calendar acknowledges the "Festival of the Reformation"  October 31st.

We  will promote this counter cultural  occasion  by advocating the substantive doctrine that came forth from the heroic Luther. It was his convictional and confrontational courage that factually changed the course of human history.

In order to give adequate attention to "the doctrine of vocation", we will teach part 1 tomorrow evening during our Wednesday study and conclude with part 2 on Sunday morning.

Please prioritze being with us tomorrow evening since it is foundational to Sunday morning.

Here is a mere sampling of things we will learn in this two part series:

> What is the doctrine of vocation?
> Are the politicians running for election in November, promoting or demoting  the doctrine?
> Do we have to work because of the first sin in the garden?
> Can you define the protestant work ethic?
> Is there such a thing as a Christian job?
> How do we vocationally love our neighbor?
>Will we have to work in heaven?

Messianic Believers In Israel

Shalom Saints!

As you know, we send monthly financial support to Avi & Chaya Mizrachi  in Israel. Avi is the lead pastor of Adonai Roi Congregation and director of Dugit Messianic Outreach Centre in Tel Aviv.

Charisma Magazine reports, "Today, the number of Israeli Messianic Jewish believers is estimated at 12,000, with about 140 different congregations and home fellowships. God is birthing a new end-time movement of Jewish lovers in Yeshua that is becoming a prophetic voice to Israel as well as to other nations. This is truly a time to rejoice."

Please take a few moments and peruse Avi and Chaya's web site to get further acquainted with their ministry and remember to pray for them to continue to  faithfully bear witness to the Gospel of  Jesus Christ among natural Israel.

NEWS FLASH!!!!! NEWS FLASH!!!!!! NEWS FLASH!!!!!

*Sunday Morning Relocation*

During our  discussion about the opportunity to use the Agricultural Center for The Gathering, the representative kindly shared  that the building had already been reserved for this coming Sunday September 10th and a later date  in November.

The Gathering will therefore be hosted by Jason and Amanda Lawson this coming Sunday Morning. Since modifying our  Love Feasts to the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, I am sure the ladies will enjoy this time off from cooking.

However,  we are providing Starbucks Coffee with doughnuts and allowing ample time for  mutual fellowship when everyone arrives at 10:30. Now that's what I'm talkin bout!

Also, Norm Waddell will be ministering the word so  this is sure to be an edifying "Lord's Day!"

Fall Is In the Air!

As one of the four seasons, Autumn marks the transition from the hot weather of summer to the relatively cooler days that precede the cold days of winter. In North America, Autumn  is commonly considered to start in September when nightfall becomes noticeably earlier. For the world  of nature, this is a time of sowing and scattering back into the soil of the earth. In other words, there is redemptive purpose behind seasonal transition.

For "The Gathering of Christ Followers", Fall is  in the air as we redemptively transition from "tribal to missional". Shout!  On a practical level, here are some approaching calendar events we can all anticipate for this fall season.

October 3rd & 17th....Love Feasts

We are revising our schedule so that the "Love Feast" now will be celebrated
on the 1st and 3rd sundays. This will allow the ladies some time to relax on Sundays.

Octobeer 31st.........The Festival of Reformation

While culture promotes "halloween", we will celebrate truths from the Reformation.

November 25th.......Thanksgiving Day

Sure to be the Best food Nick has ever put in his mouth!

November 28th.......First Sunday of Advent

Liturgical season anticipating Christmas Day We will journey together through
the "Advent Conspiracy" on Wednesday evenings in November. Our objecitve is to replace consumerism with compassion by practicing countercultural principles.
Click on this site for a great preview of what is coming http://www.adventconspiracy.org/

December 17th........Christmas By Candlelight

Candlelight Dinner with special  worship and music to celebrate Advent of The Christ Child
2000 years ago.

December 25th.........Christmas Day

Gloria!

We will continue to update with details regarding these events in the coming days.

Please mark your calendars now in preparation and prioritization.

See everyone Sunday Morning!

This Week

UPDATE:

Trust everyone has enjoyed a great week and anticipating "The Gathering" in our new location this week end. We have been issued keys and began moving essential equipment  from the office to the alotted storage space. We  hope to be able to transfer all  the items from our rental storage and invest that money toward the monthly rent. Aweeesome!

FYI:

Our transition from  "Tribal " to a "Missional" culture means we are beginning to intentionally engage family, friends and co-workers to join the weekly celebration of The Gathering. Some will have concerns  about "what to wear" and "the atmosphere".

Kindly assure them that most of us may not look like “ stuffy churchy people" since our preferred dress is casual, relaxed and most often the same thing we intend to  to wear for the rest of the day. This will include jeans, tennis shoes or flip-flops.

Also, the ambiance of our "Gathering"  is designed to harmonizes with the experience of  our host homes: warm, welcoming and relationally invitng.

By the way, tell em everybody calls me "RICHARD".

Sunday "Gathering" At New Location

Somebody Shout!

Everyone was  thrilled last night as we walked through the potential new location for "The Gathering".

Spacious, informal, functional and inviting are the terms used to describe the welcoming fireplace, large kitchen, icemaker, tables, chairs, and storage space.  The homey enviornment makes this a winsome opportunity for our Lord's Day Gathering. Especially since we will not have to forefeit  the relaxed and casual atmosphere  that all of us have grown to appreciate as being a core value.

So we are very blessed to announce that we will  transition to a central location this Sunday Morning for "The Gathering of Christ Followers" which will include our relational  "Love Feast"  fellowship.  Awesome!

A kind reminder saints. We will continue to remain off the " publc radar" and guard against the ABC's of the institutional church model [Attendance-Buildings-Cash]. Therefore, and should the lord allow, our simple objective is to  develop the organic paradigm of becoming missional "Christ Followers".

Directions:

 >The Troup County Agriculture Center is on Vulcans Road
> Drive east on  Hamilton Road [hwy 27] passing LaFayette Christian School
>Proceed under I-85 and Vulcan Road will be  approx 1 mile on the left [the county prison is on the right]
>Turn left onto Vulcan Road and the Agricultural Center will be on the immediate left.

Is It Biblical To Err On The Side Of Grace?

Greetings Saints,
This is a kind reminder that we Will be unpacking Romans 6-8 this Wednesday evening in order  to understand the false choice  that is ignorantly  implied by people who say they "choose to err on the side of grace".

What they are communicating is that we must choose between "being a people of grace" over  "walking out submissive obedience to Christ Lordship as communicated thru his word ". Now that truly is a false choice employed as a  camouflage tactic to excuse sinful actions that biblically warrant loving correction and redemptive discipline. In other words, the are simply boasting about tolerating the intolerable. Amen.

Please prioritize gathering with us tomorrow night as we study the scripture so that we may collectively grow in Grace and Knowledge of Jesus Christ together!
